The AL54 family covers cylindrical and mortise lock preparations, with catalog options for conventional, full-size interchangeable, and small-format interchangeable cores. Those are mechanical choices, not cosmetic variants. Door preparation, handing, thickness, latch and strike condition, fire requirements, and the facility's key system must be surveyed before a model is selected. The published AL54-CY documentation also notes that the cylindrical lock does not ship with the actual key core, so core supply belongs in the bill of materials.
For the cylindrical AL54-CY specifically, Verkada publishes support for low-frequency, high-frequency, mobile NFC, and Bluetooth credentials. It communicates over VLink through a dedicated AC12 controller and WH32 wireless hub. One AC12 can support up to 16 locks, and the hub-to-lock range depends on the building and obstructions. The AL54-CY carries IP65 and IK08 ratings. These specifications are model-specific and should not be assumed for an AL54 mortise lock without checking its own current documentation.
HTS will scope the lock hardware, correct core format, AC12 and WH32 quantities, hub placement, credential policy, licensing, door-position input, and installation. Wireless architecture reduces reader cabling at each opening, but it does not remove the need to survey radio conditions and mechanical compatibility.
