The AF64 is Verkada's all-in-one access station for a single opening. It combines a door controller, multi-technology credential reader, 5.5-inch touchscreen, and 5MP wide-angle camera. Supported entry methods include keycards, mobile NFC, Bluetooth, PIN, and Face Unlock. Face matching and liveness checks are processed locally on the device using 3D and infrared sensing; administrators control enrollment and deletion through Verkada's tools.
Installation decisions still matter even though the functions share one enclosure. The AF64 uses PoE+, connects by Ethernet, and can mount on a wall, single-gang box, or mullion with the appropriate hardware. Its IP65 and IK06 ratings help determine whether a proposed doorway falls within the published environmental and impact limits. It can operate as its own controller or connect as a reader to a Verkada access controller, so the existing door hardware and system design need to be confirmed before quoting.
HTS will scope the credential policy, mounting arrangement, PoE+ budget, lock and request-to-exit wiring, and required license. Face Unlock may also be subject to customer policy or local restrictions, so it should be treated as an explicit design choice rather than assumed for every site. The quote should include the station and any angle, mullion, relay, cabling, or installation items required for the actual opening.
