Environmental sensing selected by readings, retention, and compliance

The catalog includes SV11, SV21, SV23, and SV25 environmental sensors, plus an SV25-F SKU identified as FIPS validated and TAA compliant. It also includes an SV25 configuration described with 128GB and up to 365 days of retention. A useful selection starts with the conditions the organization actually intends to monitor, where representative readings can be collected, how alerts will be handled, and whether a government procurement variant is required. Model names alone do not prove that every generation measures the same things.

For the SV23 specifically, Verkada publishes indoor PoE operation and five-second sampling. Its readings include temperature, relative humidity, carbon dioxide, several particulate sizes, noise, and a vape-related index, together with other derived air-quality and ambient indicators. The SV23 can continue sampling while offline and supports up to 365 days of device and cloud data. Administrators can set reading-level and duration rules and deliver alerts by SMS or email. These capabilities must not be generalized to SV11, SV21, or SV25 without their current datasheets.

HTS will help define required readings, locations, PoE ports, retention, licenses, alert thresholds, recipients, and escalation ownership. Placement should be chosen for the monitoring objective rather than convenience, and a detected index should be treated according to the customer's policy and the manufacturer's interpretation. The quote should identify the exact sensor model per area and any reinforced mount or installation work.
