Verkada Door licenses (LIC-AC) enable cloud access control management across every door, turnstile, gate, or elevator cab connected to the Verkada platform. Whether doors are wired back to physical door controllers like the AC41, AC42, and high-density AC62, or connected wirelessly through Schlage and Aperio lock hubs, each independently controlled opening requires one door license in Verkada Command.

Licensing is strictly door-based, not reader-based. An entrance equipped with both an entry reader and an egress reader on the same opening consumes only a single door license. The license grants full access to Command's centralized access management suite, including role-based permissions, door schedule automation, anti-passback rules, lockdown triggers, and real-time door forced open (DFO) and door held open (DHO) alerts. When paired with Verkada cameras, door events automatically link with live video verification footage.

Door licenses are available in one, three, five, and ten-year durations. Government variants (-G) support high-security federal facilities requiring FIPS 201 credential verification and strict encryption standards. Because access control systems expand as facilities grow, Capacity Increase (CAP) licenses allow adding doors mid-cycle while co-terminating with your existing Command renewal date.
