Verkada Cloud Storage licenses (LIC-CLD-30) provide secondary, offsite cloud video archiving to complement the onboard solid-state storage built into every Verkada camera. While Verkada cameras retain all footage locally on solid-state drives under normal operation, certain regulatory mandates, compliance frameworks, and high-risk environments require an offsite duplicate of all recorded video to prevent evidence loss in the event of physical camera theft or structural damage.
Each cloud storage license entitles one physical camera to stream and retain continuous 30-day rolling video footage in Verkada's secure cloud infrastructure. This backup occurs continuously over the local uplink, automatically buffering locally if network connectivity drops and resuming upload once bandwidth is restored. Video stored in the cloud remains fully encrypted both in transit and at rest, and it integrates seamlessly with Command's video timeline, motion search, and export tools.
Cloud storage licenses are sold per camera on one, three, five, and ten-year commitments. Organizations do not need to license every camera on site; licenses can be selectively applied to high-priority entrances, cash rooms, server cages, or exterior perimeters. Both Commercial and Government (FedRAMP/FIPS) editions are available.
