The CB51-E outdoor bullet family is built for perimeter, parking lot, and external building coverage where a fixed viewing angle and a longer throw are preferred. Every model in the range records at 5MP and ships in two optical variants: a standard zoom lens and a telephoto zoom lens for sites that need to read plates or recognise faces at distance.

Retention is where the SKUs separate. Storage sizes range from 128GB up to 2TB, paired with maximum retention periods from 30 days through to 365 days. The 30-day and 60-day tiers suit retail and small business needs, while the 90-day and 365-day options address schools, municipalities, and industrial sites with longer evidence-holding requirements. The telephoto zoom variant is available at every retention tier, so a long-lens choice does not force a compromise on storage length.

The bullet form factor is a practical fit for wall or soffit mounting on warehouses, loading bays, campuses, and parking structures. Send the site layout and retention target through and we will quote the right CB51-E configuration.

How HTS deploys it

Bullets go where the coverage line is long and fixed: fence lines, loading bays, parking structures, building corners. HTS plans the perimeter as a set of overlaps — each camera's throw measured to the next camera's start — and chooses the standard or telephoto zoom lens per position, not per site. The telephoto variant earns its premium only where plate or face capture at distance is an actual requirement.

Retention tier is the other per-position decision: the 30- and 60-day SKUs suit retail and small commercial sites, while the 90- and 365-day SKUs answer schools, municipalities, and industrial sites with evidence-holding obligations. Units ship pre-configured — network, firmware, Command onboarding — so field time is mount, aim, and verify against the coverage plan.

What it costs to run over three years

The licence structure is the same as every Verkada camera: one licence per device, in 1-, 3-, 5-, or 10-year terms. Figures are HTS catalog prices from the 2026-09-21 snapshot.

  • CB51-E hardware is one-time and lists on the store; the CB52-E 256GB / 30-day tier lists at $1,804.05 with the standard zoom lens and $1,994.05 with the telephoto (2026-09-21 snapshot).
  • Camera licence, per camera: $236.55 one year / $626.05 three years / $1,044.05 five years. The three-year term beats three single years by $83.60 per camera.
  • Worked example: a CB52-256E-HW on a three-year licence runs $1,804.05 + $626.05 = $2,430.10 per camera over three years.
  • Perimeter mounts (arm, pendant, or the $236.55 pole mount) are one-time and priced per position from the mounting plan.
  • Renewal is licences only, so perimeter size and licence term are the two levers on the three-year number.

What else this needs

  • One camera licence per device (LIC-CAM-*).
  • A PoE port per camera and a run to the mounting point — perimeter positions are usually the longest runs on the site, so switch placement matters.
  • Mounting hardware for the actual surface: wall arm, pendant, or pole mount.
  • Always-on internet at the site; footage lives in Verkada Command.
  • Telephoto positions verified with a photo from the mounting height before ordering — lens choice is the one spec that is hard to fix after install.
